Lain partnered with Vicinity Centres to deliver a sustainable food court revitalisation at Sunshine Marketplace in Melbourne’s western suburbs in Victoria — a project that balanced thoughtful renewal with considered restraint, breathing new life into the centre’s food court while honouring and enhancing its existing character and built elements.
Rather than a full replacement, the food court furniture and fitout strategy focused on a sustainable approach — modifying and upgrading existing joinery to integrate power solutions, introducing warm timber columns to elevate the space’s material palette, and supplying custom commercial planter pots to introduce greenery and a biophilic warmth throughout the dining zones. New loose food court furniture was delivered and installed across all dining zones, refreshing the seating environment and creating a cohesive, welcoming atmosphere for the Sunshine Marketplace community.
The result is a refreshed, design-led food court furniture package that feels thoroughly updated while maintaining the centre’s existing character and connection to its local community. From product selection and custom element development through to delivery and placement, Lain managed the complete food court furniture revitalisation for Vicinity Centres at Sunshine Marketplace — delivering a sustainable, fit-for-purpose outcome that demonstrates Lain’s capability to deliver food court furniture packages for shopping centre upgrades across Melbourne and Victoria.
