For Mandurah Forum, Lain partnered with Vicinity Centres to deliver a food court furniture package inspired by the centre’s coastal setting. Natural timber, greenery and a light, warm palette created a relaxed dining environment with a subtle connection to Mandurah.

Loose seating combined the solid timber Kat chair in a soft mint green lacquer with the Kasia chair in a light neutral powdercoat, paired with three terrazzo tabletop finishes for variation across the space.

Custom fixed banquette seating formed a key part of the project, designed around the durability and maintenance needs of a busy retail environment. Solid Tasmanian Oak frames were custom stained in a 10% walnut finish to tie in with the centre’s existing ceiling and flooring, while two green vinyl finishes brought contrast and the look of natural leather.

The result is a warm, coastal-inspired food court that balances materiality, comfort and long-term practicality.
